Items you will need:
- cake covered in white fondant
- 1 brown fondant
- 1 yellow fondant
- 1 white fondant
- 3 white buttercream
- pizza cutter
- ruler
- rolling pin
- scissors
- toothpicks
- popsicle sticks
- piping bags
- q-tips
- water container
Step 1
Roll 3/4 of your white fondant into one thick rope. Bend the ends to make the handle and set this piece aside.
Step 2
Combine 1 packet of brown fondant and 1 packet of yellow fondant, and knead until fully mixed. Roll this out using your rolling pin.
Step 3
Use your pizza cutter to cut 1.5 inch x 4.5 inch rectangles to form the wooden slats. Normally you will need about 13 slats. Use the width of the ruler as a guide for the width of the slats.
Step 4
Begin attaching the slats around the side of the cake (attach from the bottom of the cake to the top). Slats should be slightly higher than the actual cake. Use the scissors to cut off any excess.
Step 5
Roll out the remaining white fondant into one long rope that fits around the entire base of the cake.
Step 6
Use your finger to push on the rope to form indents.
Step 7
Grab the handle you formed in Step 1. Insert toothpicks on each end of the handle and attach to the side of your cake.
Step 8
Fill your piping bag with white buttercream.
Step 9
To form the foam, cut a small hole at the end of your piping back and pipe circles around the entire top of the cake. In select areas, overflow the foam onto the side of the cake.
