Items you will need:
- cake covered in orange fondant
- 2 orange fondant
- 2 white fondant
- 1 black fondant
- cutting tool
- 4 toothpicks
- heart mold
- pink edible marker
Step 1
Combine the two packets of orange fondant and roll them out, keeping the fondant about a quarter of an inch thick. Cut out the shape of the ear.
Step 2
Collect the extra fondant, and repeat Step 1 to make the second ear.
Step 3
Insert two toothpicks up the middle of each ear for support.
Step 4
Roll out a packet of white fondant, and cut the shapes for the insides of the ears and place them on the ears.
Step 5
Insert the ears into the cake, near the rim.
Step 6
Roll out the remaining white fondant and use the cutting tool to cut out two separate large marquise shapes of the white for the face. Attach each marquise to the top of the cake.
Step 7
Roll out the remaining white and use your cutting tool to cut out a rounded triangle for the chest.
Step 8
With your remaining orange fondant, create the feet, two tufts of ear fur and a tail. Start with the tufts of ear fur by using your hands to roll small pieces of fondant into balls. Taper one side to form a teardrop and attach to the ear with the tapered side pointing up. Repeat this step 6 times.
Step 9
Roll two small balls for the feet and use all of the remaining orange fondant to create the tail.
Step 10
Using your hands, roll two small balls of black fondant and attach to the top of the cake to form the eyes.
Step 11
Create the nose using the heart mold. Choose the size of heart that will best fit your fox.
Step 12
Use the pink edible marker to draw on the cheeks. Alternatively, if you have pink fondant you can create small fondant ovals and attach to the cake.
